On entering Casa Túlipa, one is struck by the sense of light and space. The layout of this beautiful villa has a nice flow to it, affording an instant feeling of well-being.
Aesthetics and pragmatics are optimally combined in the design: you want to live here! Every detail has been taken into account and everything has been finished to the highest degree, so that future owners are assured of top quality and a stunning interior.
There is a lovely, low maintenance garden with an irrigation system, a swimming pool, a vineyard and there are several terraces offering stunning views of the Serra da Louzā,
In addition to the living area on the main floor the present owners have realized a spacious (two lounges) and exceptionally well appointed apartment on the first floor. It has been rented out during the summer months in recent years and has been rated as excellent by the guests. Of course, the owner has the option of living in this lovely apartment while renting out the villa, thus increasing revenue.
Below the property is a gigantic garage (with automatic door) and storage space, as well as the oil-fired central heating boiler.
The villa is located in a quiet hamlet, 5 minutes by car from Penela and 20 minutes from the medieval university city of Coimbra, cultural hub and world-class medical centre. This pleasant green heart of Portugal - not yet discovered by the masses - offers numerous sights which are on the world heritage list of Unesco (in less than an hour’s drive: Conimbriga, Coimbra, Tomar, Batalha, Alcobaça, …) but there are many more cultural gems to discover here. And within 50 minutes you can visit the endless beaches of the Costa de Prata (Silver Coast).
This part of Portugal is still authentic, the people are friendly and in the many local restaurants you can enjoy delicious Portuguese meals and wines at absurdly low prices. The climate is pleasant, sunny summers and mild winters. The cost of living here is lower than elsewhere in Western Europe and Portugal is known for being politically stable and relatively safe. These are the reasons why many expats from the UK, France, Netherlands, Belgium en the USA have already settled here.
The international airports of Lisbon and Porto are easily accessible within 1.5 hours.
